Otherwise stated, if you remove an email address and someone still sends a message to it, or to any misspelled email address under the very same domain, you’ll get the message in the catch-all mailbox. Using this functionality implies that you will no longer miss an email for any reason, which could be essential in case you run a business, for instance. Since you may start receiving spam emails, you can combine the catch-all option with email filters in order to receive only legitimate messages in your inbox. Just one mailbox per domain name can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be set up for a catch-all mailbox.
Catch-all Emails in Web Hosting
Setting up a catch-all e-mailbox will be rather easy if you have a Linux web hosting with our company. You can activate the feature through our advanced, albeit intuitive Email Manager tool, which is an indivisible part of the Hepsia hosting Control Panel, via which you will manage the account itself. You will find all the mailboxes that you have set up enumerated in alphabetical order and to the right of each one there will be a small-size "Catch-all" icon, which will instantaneously show you whether a particular mailbox stores all the email messages pertaining to a given domain or not. With a single click on the icon you can enable or disable this option at any moment. In case there’s activated email forwarding or in case a different mailbox has already been set up as a catch-all one for a particular domain name, you’ll get a warning notice from our system. The latter will not replace/disable anything automatically and without your consent.
Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers
The in-house built Hepsia hosting Control Panel that is included with each semi-dedicated server plan that we are offering will allow you to create a catch-all mailbox without any efforts even if you don’t have much email/web hosting experience. All it takes to do that is to click on the catch-all icon, which will be next to each email address that you’ve set up using your domain names in the Email Manager section of the hosting Control Panel. As you can have only one single mailbox with this feature per domain, our system will notify you if you have already configured a different catch-all mailbox or if the one that you want to use has email forwarding activated. In case you reach the decision that you don’t want the feature any longer, you can remove it by clicking once again on the same icon. The Email Manager will also allow you to view your catch-all mailboxes at a glance.
